AI Prompts for Building Products Sales
Find the task that's eating your week. Fix it.
Updated July 2026
Every rep has one. That thing that takes way longer than it should. The report nobody reads but you spend an hour on every Friday. The CRM updates that could be simpler. The email you rewrite four times because the tone never feels right.
This isn't a prompt page. It's a framework. Pick the task that's eating your time, feed it into this process, and let AI reverse engineer a faster way to do it.
Why: Most people don't actually know where their time goes. This prompt forces you to map it out, then AI spots the inefficiencies you've stopped noticing.
I'm a sales rep in building products. Here's how I typically spend my week:
[Describe your weekly routine. Be honest. Include the boring stuff.]
Which tasks are taking me the longest relative to the value they produce? Rank my activities by time spent vs. impact on sales outcomes. Highlight the biggest mismatches.Best tool: Claude or ChatGPT.
Why: You've been doing it the same way for years. AI doesn't have that baggage. It'll spot redundant steps you've accepted as normal.
The task that takes me the longest is [task].
Here's exactly how I currently do it:
[Walk through your current process step by step]
Where is the wasted time? Which steps could be automated, simplified, or eliminated entirely? Be specific.Best tool: Claude or ChatGPT.
Why: You don't just get a diagnosis. You get a new process with prompts built in.
Based on the diagnosis above, give me a new workflow for [task] that uses AI where it makes sense and keeps the human parts that actually need me.
Write it as a step-by-step process I can follow from tomorrow. Include any prompts I'd need to run as part of the new workflow.Best tool: Claude or ChatGPT.
I tried the new workflow for [task]. Here's what worked and what didn't:
[Your feedback]
Adjust the process based on this feedback. Keep what worked. Fix what didn't.Best tool: Claude or ChatGPT.
Pick one. Run it through the framework. Save yourself hours.
Pro tip
Don't try to fix everything at once. Pick the single biggest time-waster. Fix that one first. Once it's working, pick the next one. Building a better workflow is iterative. Same as steering AI. You get there in rounds, not in one go.
Once you've got a workflow that works, save it. Set it up as a Project in Claude or a GPT in ChatGPT so you're not rebuilding it every time. Refine it after every use. Within a few weeks you'll have a system that runs in minutes instead of hours.
